Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) has reports the company has been awarded a contract to develop and provide four Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) wings, along with multiple Argus cameras and Low Voltage Distribution Units (LVDUs) for Blue Origin's pioneering space mobility platform, Blue Ring.

Mike Gold, Redwire's Chief Growth Officer, expressed pride in the company's role as a "key mission enabler" for Blue Origin's Blue Ring platform. The collaboration leverages Redwire's extensive experience and commitment to innovation and reliability in spaceflight. Gold's statement underlines the significance of this partnership in advancing space exploration technologies.

The ROSA wings, a central aspect of this collaboration, are designed to power the Blue Ring platform for various missions in medium-Earth orbit and beyond. ROSA's high stowed volume efficiency and configuration flexibility make it an ideal solution for Blue Ring's unique architecture.

The technology has a proven track record, having been deployed on six occasions on the International Space Station (ISS), and is currently in production for additional two ROSA wings. Notably, ROSA technology was also integral to NASA's DART spacecraft, which achieved the historic feat of altering the orbit of asteroid Dimorphos in September 2022.

Redwire's involvement extends beyond ROSA wings. The Argus space camera system, another key component provided for Blue Ring, is a modular imaging system with experience in low-Earth orbit missions.

It's set to be included in NASA Commercial Lunar Payload Services lunar landers. Redwire's camera systems were also responsible for capturing the stunning imagery from NASA's Artemis I mission. Furthermore, Redwire's reconfigurable LVDUs, developed to distribute power efficiently to various payloads and spacecraft, are part of the robust technology package provided for the Blue Ring mission.
