Space Forge, a pioneering force in sustainable in-space manufacturing and research, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Voyager Space, a leading entity in space exploration, to jointly explore new horizons in space-based research and manufacturing.

Space Forge has established itself at the forefront of commercial space utilization, especially through its advanced materials manufacturing and reentry capabilities. This new collaboration with Voyager will leverage Space Forge's ForgeStar series - a commercially focused platform designed for in-space research and manufacturing. The partnership will address needs in advanced materials and biomedical sectors, with applications that could benefit both Earth-based and space-specific industries.

"This collaboration is a game-changer for commercial space," said Michelle Flemming, President of Space Forge Inc. "Combining Space Forge's cutting-edge ForgeStar technology with Voyager's expertise in commercial space station infrastructure and services creates an unique opportunity to deliver impactful, sustainable solutions. By utilizing space's unique conditions - including microgravity, vacuum, and extreme temperatures - Voyager and Space Forge aim to establish new material production standards. This approach is expected to reduce carbon emissions and energy usage, yielding quality outcomes not achievable with Earth-based manufacturing.

"Voyager's goal is to advance the capabilities of commercial space exploration, and these plans with Space Forge mark a significant step toward achieving this," said Frank Morgan, Chief Operating Officer and interim President of Exploration at Voyager Space. "This work will allow us to explore new frontiers in biomedicine and material science, unlocking the potential of space to deliver groundbreaking solutions not possible on Earth."

With decades of spaceflight experience and over 2,000 successful missions, Voyager is uniquely positioned to enhance this collaboration with Space Forge, pushing the limits of commercial space manufacturing possibilities.

In-space manufacturing offers substantial advantages: lower costs, faster production timelines, and reduced environmental footprints. Industry projections estimate the market for in-space manufacturing could grow to $21.8 billion by 2032, with an annual growth rate of 20%.

This partnership will focus on combining ForgeStar's adaptable, returnable spacecraft with Voyager's orbital capabilities, aiming to deliver breakthrough solutions for industries dependent on high-performance materials, such as the biomedical and computing sectors.

The MOU also outlines future projects, including developing advanced reentry capabilities and seeking funding opportunities for commercial clients. This alliance between Space Forge and Voyager Space promises to transform access to space-made products, driving impactful changes across a variety of global markets.
