Uzma (BURSA:7250.KL), a Malaysian-based energy and technology firm, has joined forces with Satellogic Inc. (NASDAQ: SATL), a pioneer in sub-meter resolution Earth Observation ("EO") data collection, in a momentous partnership aimed at revolutionizing satellite imagery capabilities and geospatial services in Southeast Asia.

This collaboration includes the deployment of a cutting-edge EO satellite named "UzmaSAT-1," designed and manufactured by Satellogic, scheduled for launch in the second half of 2024 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, along with comprehensive tasking access to the Satellogic satellite constellation.

Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Geospatial AI Sdn Bhd ("Geospatial AI"), Uzma will harness access to high-temporal and high-resolution satellite imagery from Satellogic's extensive commercial fleet of sub-meter resolution EO satellites, which stands as the world's largest. This partnership positions Geospatial AI, a two-time recipient of the Smart Technology Innovation of the Year award, to accelerate the development of invaluable geospatial applications, delivering actionable insights to a rapidly expanding market.

One of the key highlights of this collaboration is the tasking capability granted to Uzma, providing the company with the means to capture precise satellite imagery on-demand. This includes frequent revisits, maximum responsiveness, and extensive collection capacity, all tailored to support business scalability. With this capability, Uzma will be able to swiftly respond to market dynamics and opportunities, enabling its clients to access up-to-date and accurate geospatial data crucial for informed decision-making.

Dato' Kamarul Redzuan, Uzma Group CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with Satellogic to pioneer a solution set to address our industry's long-standing need for high-temporal and high-resolution satellite data. With the launch of UzmaSAT-1 and access to Satellogic's constellation, it has the potential to set a new standard for geospatial intelligence and offer unparalleled capabilities to meet the evolving demands of Uzma's clients."

Matt Tirman, Satellogic President, echoed this excitement, saying, "We are immensely excited about this multi-year, multi-million dollar venture, which is more than a mere collaboration; it's a pioneering step geared towards revolutionizing data availability and insight extraction in Southeast Asia. By integrating Satellogic's cutting-edge satellite constellation with Uzma's robust data analytics and expertise, we are setting a new benchmark in geospatial intelligence. We believe this is the beginning of a new era in satellite imagery and geospatial services in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. We are proud to be at the forefront of this geospatial revolution with Uzma and eager to work together to bring unparalleled space-based capabilities to the region."
