Baikonur (UPI) Aug 25, 2004 Five trainee cosmonauts have arrived for training at the Baikonur cosmodrome operated by Russia, the Interfax-Kazakhstan news agency said Wednesday. The group arrived at Baikonur Tuesday and continue their training there and also participate in preparations for the launch of a U.S. AMS-15 telecommunications satellite next month, Interfax-Kazakhstan said. Three future Russian cosmonauts Sergei Zhukov, Mark Serov and Sergei Ryazansky and two future Kazakh cosmonauts, Mukhtar Aimakhanov and Aidyn Aimbetov, are undergoing training now, Baikonur Federal Space Center officials told Interfax. Two more Russian trainee cosmonauts Yevgeny Tarelkin and Oleg Artemyev are scheduled to join the group later, the officials said.
