El Segundo CA (SPX) Sep 15, 2006 The Aerospace Corporation has announced that it has created a NASA Division dedicated to supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The announcement was made by Gary P. Pulliam, vice president of Civil and Commercial Operations. "This division will enhance our capabilities for support to NASA," Pulliam said. He noted that the company has significantly stepped up its level of support for the space agency over the past five years, providing engineering assessments and recommendations on such programs as the International Space Station and Hubble Telescope, among other projects. Heading the new division and promoted to general manager is John A. Maguire, who moves up from principal director of the NASA and Other Civil Programs Directorate. Maguire, based in The Aerospace Corporation's Rosslyn, Va., office, will be responsible for management and technical leadership of the company's support to NASA headquarters and centers. Pulliam also announced the promotions of Dr. David A. Bearden to principal director and Dr. Francesco Bordi to principal scientist. Bearden will lead the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Advanced Systems Directorate in Pasadena, Calif.
