AeroAstro Extends Globalstar Simplex Data Service Eastern Australia And New Zealand
Dubbo, Australia (SPX) Jun 18, 2007 AeroAstro has successfully installed the next SENS asset tracking satellite downlink decoder rack (Applique) at a Globalstar ground gateway in Dubbo, New South Wales in Eastern Australia. The Dubbo installation combined with the existing system at a Globalstar gateway in Western Australia will enable seamless Simplex Data coverage for the entire continent, New Zealand, and the surrounding maritime region. The Dubbo ground gateway is located 260 miles northwest of Sydney in central New South Wales, equidistant from the commercial centers of Brisbane and Melbourne on the Newell Highway. In addition to Eastern Australia, AeroAstro has installed 9 other decoders across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Western Australia. "Intelligent logistics management using large numbers of simplex data sensors offers a way to align big issues like industrial energy efficiency, reductions in transportation emissions, and increased productivity for economic growth." said David J. Goldstein Executive VP and GM of the Communications and Sensor Systems group at AeroAstro. The Sensor Enabled Notification System (SENS) Applique, a proprietary digital signal processing infrastructure component installed at key Globalstar ground stations such as Dubbo, receives and decodes asset tracking and monitoring data from field transmitters via the Globalstar Low Earth Orbit satellite network. Madrid (AFP) Jun 12, 2007Spanish infrastructure group Albertis said Monday it was considering a stake in Spanish satellite operator Hispasat, one of the partners in the European satellite navigation network Galileo. Albertis, in a message to the Spanish market regulator CNMV, said its subsidiary, Albertis Telecom "has had talks with the private shareholders of Hispasat to study a possible acqusition, but no commitment has been formalised." |
