Navy taps Hexagon Federal for 'ruggedized' hardware

The U.S. Navy has awarded a contract to Hexagon Federal, Inc., to supply the company's Ruggedized Marine Hardware systems for naval ships.

Hexagon Federal's line of Ruggedized Marine Hardware includes workstations, displays and consoles "that are able to withstand harsh environments," the company says on its website. The $60.9 million indefinite-quantity contract with the Navy will put that equipment on ships across a number of classes as part of a variety of modernization programs, the Defense Department said.

Hexagon Federal will deliver the hardware to the Naval Surface Warfare Center's Philadelphia Division. The Defense Department expects work to be complete by May 2024.

Delivery dates will be determined on an order-by-order basis, according to the Pentagon.

The Navy will obligate $1.8 million after the contract award using fiscal 2017 other procurement funds.
