Navistar Defense has been awarded a $29.7 million U.S. Army contract modification to reset and upgrade 250 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles.

The contract includes an option for an additional 200 vehicles.

Work will be done in West Point, Miss., with an expected completion date of May 2017.

The Illinois-based company has been the recipient of several military vehicle contracts over the years.

It got a $369 million U.S. Army contract in September to provide 2,293 medium tactical vehicles for the Afghan security forces, according to a company release.

That contract calls for providing general troop transport vehicles, fuel and water tankers, wreckers, ammunition trucks and trucks featuring armored cabs.
