Boeing has been awarded a maximum $52 million delivery order for work on the F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft. The firm-fixed-price delivery order against a five-year basic ordering agreement covers work on aircraft access doors. Work will be performed in Missouri with an estimated completion date of April 2020. The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is the contracting activity. The F/A-18 Super Hornet is a twin-engine, super sonic, all-weather, multirole fighter capable of taking off from and landing on an aircraft carrier. Boeing has provided an array of Super Hornet upgrades, including conformal fuel tanks, an enclosed weapons pod, an enhanced engine and a reduced radar signature.
