Isle of Man - The Switzerland Of Space

The Isle of Man is set to become the Switzerland of space after Tynwald approved �955,000 for space marketing. In a speech to the Tynwald � the independent island's parliament - on Jan. 20, Allan Bell, the treasury minister, said he wanted to promote the country as a destination of choice for space companies � "a Switzerland of Space" � the Isle of Man Today reported.

PanAmSat's Galaxy 3R To Be Removed From Service

PanAmSat Tuesday announced that the Galaxy IIIR domestic satellite, operating in an inclined orbit at 74 deg W, experienced an anomaly of its secondary spacecraft control processor (SCP). PanAmSat and the satellite manufacturer, Boeing Satellite Systems are continuing to investigate the anomaly.
