  • China To Launch Commercial Satellite For Nigeria
    Hong Kong (SPX) Dec 02, 2005
    China is to launch a commercial satellite for Nigeria, visiting Xu Dazhe, deputy general manager of China Aerospace Science and Technology, said Monday. China has launched a foreign satellite this year and signed cooperative contracts on launching several foreign satellites, said Xu at a press conference in Beijing in October. He said China is interested in launching international commercial satellites and other operations for the peaceful use of outer space. fullstory

    India To Launch Over 10 New Satellites

    The Indian Space Research Organization is planning to launch 10-12 satellites in the coming four years, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Prithviraj Chavan informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

    Russian space agency officials Thursday postponed a scheduled Dec. 8 spacewalk by the Russian-American crew of the International Space Station. "The extravehicular activity of Valery Tokarev and William McArthur is not planned in December," Russia's Mission Control Center spokesman Valery Lyndin told Itar-Tass.

    First Brazilian Rocket Launched From Esrange

    Thursday, the Texus-EML sounding rocket which is jointly funded by ESA and DLR was successfully launched from Esrange at 09.04 UT. The Brazilian rocket motor VSB-30, was used for the very first time at Esrange. The flight provided 6 minutes and 37 seconds of microgravity as planned.
