The X-43A broke its own speed record Tuesday reaching Mach 10 during a test flight over the Pacific. NASA said the "scramjet" reached 7,000 miles per hour, a new record for a plane using air-breathing engines. The unmanned aircraft was dropped from a B-52 flying out of Edwards AFB in California.
