Woolpert expands European Geospatial presence with acquisition of Murphy Geospatial

In a strategic move to expand its geospatial capabilities across Europe, Woolpert has acquired Ireland-based Murphy Geospatial, renowned for its comprehensive geospatial solutions. Murphy Geospatial, headquartered in Kilcullen, Ireland, is recognized for its extensive array of services, including surveying, mobile and indoor mapping, asset monitoring, subsurface engineering, and 3D digital twin development. Employing nearly 400 professionals across six offices in Ireland and the United Kingdom, the company has established a robust presence in the region.

Founded in 1911, Woolpert is a leading architecture, engineering, and geospatial firm in the United States, with over half a century of experience in providing integrated geospatial services. Neil Churman, President of Woolpert, highlighted the acquisition's aim to bolster the firm's geospatial capabilities in Europe, anticipating the alignment of best practices, operational efficiencies, and the advancement of a wide range of services including survey, reality capture, BIM, GIS, and mapping.

Neil Churman praised Murphy Geospatial's four-decade legacy of innovation and partnership across Ireland, the UK, and surrounding areas. He anticipates that the merger will enhance Woolpert's service offerings, accelerate the development of next-level solutions, and support critical sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, property, utilities, and the natural environment.
