Teledyne e2v HiRel has announced the launch of its latest product - the TDLNA2050SEP, a radiation-tolerant S-Band low noise amplifier. This product stands out in the market for its exceptional performance tailored to meet the rigorous demands of space and radar applications, where every component's reliability, efficiency, and size play a critical role in the success of the mission.

Developed utilizing an advanced 90 nm enhancement-mode pseudomorphic High Electron Mobility Transistor (pHEMT) process, the TDLNA2050SEP is engineered to offer unparalleled performance in the S-band frequency range of 2 GHz to 5 GHz. It is designed to deliver a high gain of 17.5 dB while maintaining an exceptionally low noise figure of less than 0.4 dB and an output power (P1dB) of 19.5 dBm. These specifications make the TDLNA2050SEP an optimal choice for enhancing communication in space-based platforms, including satellite communication systems and radar applications, where signal clarity is paramount.

The amplifier comes packaged in a compact 8-pin dual-flat no-lead (DFN) configuration, measuring only 2 mm x 2 mm x 0.75 mm, which is a crucial advantage for space-constrained applications. Moreover, it is qualified to the stringent MIL-PRF-38534 Class K standards, assuring users of its reliability and performance under the harsh conditions of space.

Mont Taylor, Vice President and Business Development Manager at Teledyne e2v HiRel, emphasized the product's significance: "Today, we're releasing our latest LNA, optimized for space and radar applications. With a noise figure of less than 0.4 dB coupled with ease of use from a positive single supply voltage, we believe this new product will provide system designers with a superior solution for both space-based communication, phased array radar, and communications system applications."

Furthermore, the TDLNA2050SEP boasts a total ionizing dose (TID) radiation tolerance of up to 100 krad (Si), highlighting its suitability for satellite communication systems where it can significantly enhance the power of radio signals with minimal noise and distortion. This attribute is particularly beneficial in mitigating the degradation of digital signals, ensuring the integrity and reliability of communication in space environments.

Teledyne e2v HiRel's new LNA is now available for ordering and shipment, directly from Teledyne e2v HiRel or through authorized distributors. The company offers commercial versions of the device, along with options for Classes H and K-equivalent screening, ensuring that the product meets the specific needs of different applications. All units are shipped from Teledyne e2v HiRel's Department of Defense Trusted Facility located in Milpitas, California, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality and security.
