The testing, carried out by Element U.S. Space and Defense in Orlando, subjected the LS-2 satellite to rigorous random vibration tests designed to simulate launch conditions and confirm the structural integrity of the satellite. The tests demonstrated that LS-2 can endure over three times the maximum predicted launch environment while maintaining operational integrity in orbit.
"LizzieSat-1, which has been in orbit for more than 200 days since its launch in March, continues to perform well," said John Curry, Chief Mission Operations Officer. "Not all companies are fortunate to celebrate first-launch success. The Sidus team worked tirelessly to gather insights and lessons from LS-1, enabling us to swiftly implement enhancements for LS-2 to not only address increasing customer demands but expand data collection capabilities."
