Kennedy Space Center FL (SPX) May 19, 2006 NASA announced Thursday the payloads for space shuttle mission STS-121 have arrived at Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center, carried in a special canister mounted on a transporter. The payloads next will be loaded into shuttle Discovery's bay after the vehicle reaches the launch pad. Discovery currently is scheduled to roll out to the pad Friday from the Vehicle Assembly Building. The STS-121 mission remains targeted for launch sometime between July 1 and July 19. If launched within that window, Discovery will have flown twice within one year, in a program meant to continue NASA's evaluation of flight safety procedures, including shuttle inspection and repair techniques.
