The sharp increase in solar activity which is being registered at the moment has not influenced the control of Russian satellites, the Russian Defense Ministry's Main center for spaceship testing and control has told Interfax.
All the satellites are functioning well and responding to signals from the Earth. They are oriented properly and give all necessary information. The space vehicles on the geo-stationary orbit are providing telecommunications services without any faults.
The mission control center of the Russian Mir space station has also reported they have not experienced any troubles with control of the orbital system.
Contact with the crew of the 28th mission Sergei Zaletin and Alexander Kaleri is stable, and the astronauts are working according to plan and preparing to return home.
