Northrop Grumman Announces Team For Joint Network Node Bid

Northrop Grumman is forming a team of partner companies for the anticipated competition of the U.S. Army's Joint Network Node (JNN) program. JNN is a suite of Internet protocol-based communication systems that provide for satellite connectivity and communications.

The Army awarded a sole-source contract to General Dynamics in 2004 but has said it intends to issue a request for proposals to build and deliver the third phase of the program this month.

Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector has negotiated teaming agreements with L-3 Communications Holdings, New York City; Ultra Electronics, Quebec, Canada; Harris Corporation, Melbourne, Fla.; ITT Industries, White Plains, N.Y.; ManTech International, Fairfax, Va.; and Agile Communications, Los Angeles.

"The stellar team we've formed can provide the Army with a synchronized communications system to leverage the previously fielded JNN sets and, at the same time, spiral in new capabilities that will be needed by future programs including the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical and Future Combat System," said Otto Guenther, vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's Tactical Systems Division.

"The Northrop Grumman team brings a wide array of experience in all past and future JNN-related programs."

First Syracuse 3A Capacity Online A Month After Launch
