Bethesda MD (SPX) May 1, 2006 Lockheed Martin announced Friday that Joanne M. Maguire will succeed G. Thomas Marsh as executive vice president of its Space Systems unit when Marsh retires July 1. Maguire, 52, will be responsible for all business operations and activities of the Space Systems unit, which designs, produces and integrates launch vehicles, spacecraft for telecommunications, remote sensing and space science, and missile systems for defensive and strategic missions. LM Space Systems employs about 18,000 people - out of a total of 135,000 for the corporation - in nine primary locations across the United States. Since 2003, Maguire has served as Marsh's deputy and has been involved in all aspects of managing the business, the company said in a statement. She also is an officer of the Corporation. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Maguire served as deputy to the chief executive of TRW Space & Electronics. In all, she served 28 years with TRW in the company's civil and military space divisions and in business development. She holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University and a master's in system engineering from University of California, Los Angeles. Related Links LM Space Systems
