L-3 Communications Joins Skybridge Partnership
Bethesda - Feb. 19, 2001 L-3 Communications has become a SkyBridge shareholder and industrial partner, working in concert with SkyBridge and other partners to deliver the next generation of broadband services via satellite. "We are pleased to welcome L-3 Communications to the SkyBridge partnership," said Pascale Sourisse, SkyBridge President and CEO. "L-3 brings a wealth of development expertise to the partnership along with extensive terrestrial wireless and high-speed satellite data delivery experience. L-3's role as terminal supplier for SkyBridge adds both diversity and additional expertise to this critical component of the SkyBridge access system." "Our extensive experience in broadband delivery systems makes L-3 an ideal partner for the SkyBridge project. The L-3 terminals will allow high-speed Internet access for home and business users worldwide. Terminals will be available in home, small office-home office (SOHO) and large business classes. The terminals will allow access to the worldwide SkyBridge network at very attractive prices. SkyBridge will provide telecom operators and service providers with broadband access capacity, enabling them to offer high-speed, highly interactive multimedia services to business and residential users anywhere in the world via a constellation of 80 low earth orbiting satellites.
