Longmont CO (SPX) Jul 20, 2005 YieldTrax, the new historical yield management solution from EarthMap Solutions is now available to help producers and land managers assess past crop production of a specific field to more effectively plan higher output for future crops. Combining archived satellite imagery with proprietary data set analysis, YieldTrax makes it possible for the first time to capture accurate historical yield data on any field for any growing season over the past five years. Traditionally, growers relied on yield measurement techniques that treat each field homogeneously, although actual yields may vary dramatically within a single field. YieldTrax improves upon older techniques by providing site-specific measurements for individual fields. This approach empowers growers to increase efficiency and maximize profits by adjusting planting techniques and applying pesticides, herbicides and nutrients in areas of a field that need them most. Based on proven satellite technology, YieldTrax matches traditional yield monitor products such as combine-mounted monitors in accuracy but is easier to use and requires no hardware investment. Growers and land managers who order a YieldTrax scene of a field will receive a dual-output package. The package includes a color-coded, spatially allocated crop yield map showing estimated yields within a field for a previously harvested crops, as well as unique data files for analysis of the factors impacting yields. Once basic field inputs are supplied, the final Crop Yield Map and detailed analysis is delivered to a customer within seven days. Visit www.earthmapsolutions.com for more information and pricing. "For growers, access to site-specific historical yield measurements could be the difference between making a profit or taking a loss," said Greg Knoblauch, president and CEO for EarthMap Solutions. "With YieldTrax, growers can - for the first time - assess past yield data, even if they did not monitor such information for the past five years. This information is imperative to a grower's ability to make changes that directly affect the bottom line." YieldTrax has its genesis in AgSense, a product line developed over eight years by RESOURCE21, a satellite and information company formerly owned by Boeing, Farmland Industries, BAE Systems and ITD. Greenbelt MD (SPX) Jul 19, 2005Scientists face difficult challenges in predicting and understanding how much our climate is changing. When it comes to gases that trap heat in our atmosphere, called greenhouse gases (GHGs), scientists typically look at how much of the gases exist in the atmosphere. |
