Allied Defense Announces New TeraScan Antenna Systems

The Allied Defense Group announced Wednesday the formation of a new Antenna Division and a new line of antenna products for satellite communications developed by the Company's California-based subsidiary, SeaSpace Corporation.

SeaSpace's new Antenna Division will offer a complete line of new TeraScan antenna products employing SeaSpace's new AXYOM technology (patent pending), targeted at a growing $150 million market segment.

In 2003, The Allied Defense Group and SeaSpace made a multi-million dollar investment in the design and manufacture of this next generation of antenna systems for higher performance applications.

SeaSpace unveiled its newly-developed TeraScan antennas utilizing AXYOM technology at the International Telemetry Conference in October 2004 in San Diego, California.

The TeraScan AXYOM antennas were designed specifically to support the future National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) satellites, as well as other high performance applications.

TeraScan AXYOM antennas are being introduced now to permit users to be fully operational well before the first NPOESS satellite launch. AXYOM technology represents lower acquisition cost, increased performance, reduced risk and reduced life-cycle costs for SeaSpace customers.

SeaSpace's landmark AXYOM technology was developed to allow TeraScan antennas to meet the rigorous 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year operational requirements of NPOESS.

AXYOM technology provides high reliability and low maintenance requirements, an important consideration since some NPOESS era ground stations will operate unattended in diverse, and sometimes severe, environments ranging from the tropics to polar regions.
