ABC Solar Augmented Reality Assistant for Inverter Repair with AI presented for DARPA Task Mastery Bid by Staff Writers Los Angeles CA (SPX) May 14, 2021
Today ABC Solar Incorporated submitted its team and formulas for adding artificial intelligence Tools of Perception to its cloud solar business operating system to the DARPA Perceptually-enabled Task Guidance (PTG) challenge. The goal of the DARPA PTG bid is "an assistant that sees what you see, hears what you hear, knows your tasks, and knows you. It answers your questions, warns if you make a mistake, and walks you through unfamiliar procedures. Oh, and it lowers - not raises - your cognitive load." Lowering your cognitive load for ABC Solar is the continual reduction of keystrokes necessary to complete a job and run the company. Bradley Bartz founded ABC Solar in 2000 while on the board of his Japanese internet company that started the bubble in 1990. Bartz left building websites for Coca-Cola, Citibank and Budweiser and began using all technical skill for internal use only at ABC Solar. The DARPA PTG challenge aligns with ABC Solar's efforts and team is already working on pieces of what Bartz calls the Remote-Control Human project. The DARPA vision is Perceptually-enabled Task Guidance - Enable mechanic, medics, and other specialists to perform tasks within and beyond their skillsets by providing just-in-time feedback and instructions for physical tasks. The military has solar grid tie and off grid systems deployed at every base in some form. The impact of the ABC Solar Perceptually-enabled Task Guidance (Solar PTG) success will be immediate Force Multiplier for servicing vital energy systems. The commercial applications for the Solar PTG are enlightening for the solar industry. "While Musk goes to Mars, Bartz will fix his solar installs here," Chuckled Bartz. There are millions of electrical generating inverters and soon hundreds of millions, that need maintenance and repair. ABC Solar is repeatedly called to service grid-tie inverters installed by other companies that are no longer in business. Fixing grid-tie inverters sounds easy, but it is dangerous, and the work can kill you. Personally, Bartz has had a grid-tie inverter blow up in his face when a manufacturer used a remote firmware upgrade. A key goal for ABC Solar is to greatly limit risk to personnel by rigorous task management and safety checklists that get backfilled with sensor data. In the case of grid-tie inverter repair the Solar PTG wearable vest will have volt and amperage leads that report in real-time data to the expert's dashboard and displays local for tech. Additional thermal camera and AI pattern recognition on the wearable will help determine the health of an inverter. In addition, it will report on wire size used, connections and other areas not readily seen by the tech. The Solar PTG will create the majority of the incident report that lends to better retention and knowledge transfer. The Solar PTG will get smarter when new troubleshooting paths are found. The Solar PTG is powered by Dr. Rajiv Trehan and his Voiceii.com artificial intelligence tools based on using sound for determining human intent. For our inverter technician it is poised to listen for hesitation and offer tips and task management steps. Dr. Amarjot Singh built Skylark Labs AI on image processing for bringing light to dark images and movement modeling and tracking. These tools model our ABC Solar inverter experts and creates institutional memory that can be taught to new team members. IOT Sensors are processed with the no-programming interface from SmartConnect Inc and its Edge IOT Sensor Data Capture and Control dashboard. The IOT Gateway for Unified Management - smartconnectinc.com is giving email to sensors that feed a sensor dashboard for management decisions, exception alerts and device control. The Solar PTG is tasked with using commercial-off-the-shelf and "cheap" sensors to achieve and become Tools of Perception. Ganz Security provides graphical processing AI systems with edge, servers, cloud, cameras and specialty lenses. The 96-year-old Japanese firm helps guide the Solar PTG team from product development to commercialization. The Ganz commercial-off-the-shelf hardware is being used as a platform to integrate the AI Tools of Perception and Sensor control methodologies for the Solar PTG. HTMLDB founder Dan Falzetti should be called Mr. Cloud, but he prefers his software handle of "Professor Marvel". The utterly mundane task of data management for business processes is rewarded by the mass reduction of keystrokes that brings smiles to users. Falzetti APIs do more than transport sensor data it brings it to management to reach goals faster. ABC Solar has been continually developing its Solar Business Operating System with Falzetti and inhouse. Mr. Cloud is on our DARPA team and that means data will flow. ABC Solar founder Bartz is so impressed with the Solar PTG tools that his think tank business The Daily Network LLC is building an Artificial Intelligence and Industrial IOT Systems Integration business called Form Power. The Solar PTG project home and your new AI project is at FormPower.com. Form Power by using Tools of Perception, edge and cloud resources to extend the reach of each tech in the field. Form Power will answer more AI RFPs and is ready to offer solutions to industry. The Solar PTG will be sold by The Daily Network to stakeholders in the solar industry electrical grid tie inverter repair and maintenance space. The DARPA Perceptually-enabled Task Guidance has two bid tracks. Six teams are going to make Cooking PTGs. ABC Solar has chosen the military use case. This track allows integrating tools from the Cooking PTG teams. Simply put the collaborative approach by DARPA will yield new and exciting methods for the use of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and an overload of sensors. The DAPRA PTG will see, hear and feel more than humans can and translate that information stream to assist in safe and efficient tasking. It was a hard choice for the ABC Solar team because Dr. Trehan is a hobbyist chef and his interpretation of the Cooking PTG cast new light on solutions. The ABC Solar AI team considered submitting both bids to DARPA. The overall realization is the Tools of Perception and our Expert to Task Mastery system can be ported to virtually any field. Besides Dr. Trehan's passion, our team recruited celebrity nutritionist Robin Miller to be our cooking expert to be modeled by our AI and to become our projection of an augmented reality AI teaching chef. Ms. Miller brings powerful descriptions as she is cooking that reinforces AI training for movement, pattern matching, voice, emotion, task awareness and the yum results. Two bids, one document? Yes, using non-artificial intelligence to perceive a better chance.

US must embrace human augmentation or fall behind competitors Washington DC (Sputnik) May 04, 2021 Mixing human ingenuity with machine efficiency, power, and speed can create superhuman capabilities in the coming decade, and the US must embrace this change in technological era or fall behind global adversaries, Dr. Joel B. Mozer, the Chief Scientist of the US Space Force, said on Wednesday. He was speaking at the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Inspire event. "In the last century, Western civilization transformed from an industrial-based society to an information-based society, but ... read more
