Space Media Network Expands Content
Sydney - September 7, 1999 - SpaceDaily.com, a leading provider of space industry news and information, announced today completion of various content and advertising agreements with leading Space, Education, Science, and Asia related internet sites.

In tandem, SpaceDaily's founder and publisher Simon Mansfield has established Space Media Network - a cooperative of independently owned and operated Websites that provides advertisers with access to over three-million monthly page impressions, growing to five million by Christmas.

Space Media Network (SMN) is now one of the world's leading online networks for science and education, with additional opportunities for the company among Asia's technology, finance and sporting channels.

Building upon its initial agreement with Views of the Solar System to manage advertising on its planetary science module at www.solarviews.com, Space Media Network has expanded its education reach via an agreement with ExploreZone.Com.

ExploreZone.Com is a leading earth and space science website serving both education and general public audiences. Established in 1998, the site at www.explorezone.com is highly regarded by school teachers and parents in search of quality sites for their children to use.

Robert Roy Britt editor of ExploreZone said, "by working with Space Media Network we can leverage SMN's advertising power without compromising our independence."

Space Media Network's preeminence among industry readers is being further enhanced with the launch of "Space and Tech" a technical and business database for space professionals at www.spaceandtech.com.

"Space and Tech" was developed by Andrews Space and Tech, Inc (AST) in conjunction with SpaceDaily. "The database is a valuable tool for SpaceDaily's readers while further expanding the industry reach of SMN's advertising network," said Mansfield.

Jason Andrews, president of AST said he was attracted to Space Media Network's turnkey solution for his company's Internet revenue and marketing needs. "The can-do approach of SMN will ensure we quickly capitalize on our ideas as Space and Tech develops," added Andrews.

On the e-com front Space Media Network has signed agreements with Encounter 2001 Inc, and Space Media Store to provide electronic commerce services to SMN member sites.

Encounter 2001 offers a series of public participation space missions ranging from Cosmic Calls to the launch of a small probe to the stars in 2001 that will contain millions of photos, messages and DNA samples provided by participants the world over. Priced up to $50 per sample, Encounter 2001 is helping open space to consumers. Charles Chafer, CEO of Encounter 2001 said, "Space Media Network will significantly complement our own marketing efforts by bringing us over 100 million ad impressions between now and the launch of our interstellar mission."

In tandem, SMN has signed an agreement with the Space Media Store to offer its broad range of consumer space products to SMN member sites and their visitors via immediate access to a sophisticated e-com service. The Space Media Store is a division of Canadian-based Space Media Corporation, a leading provider of corporate multimedia production and e-commerce services to the worldwide space community.

Existing agreements with other space related sites include universeToday.com with its space headlines service, and SpaceWar.com's vanity email domains, are being strengthened by the establishment of Space Media Network.

Additional agreements were also completed this past week with Japan.co.jp and its associated Jmail Group for the formation of Asia Media Network. Jmail Group controls the largest portfolio of generic Japanese and Asian domain names within both the .jp and .com spheres - such as japan.co.jp and sushi.co.jp .

Jmail and SMN will jointly establish Asia Media Network to manage Jmail's five million monthly page impressions, and which is on track to double by Christmas.

Jmail's president Bradley Bartz said, "By working with Space Media Network we will doubly profit by utilizing SMN's consumer advertising base for our own services, and repackaging SMN sites for distribution in Japan and Asia."
