SpaceDaily Enjoys Profitable First Year
Sydney - June 23, 1999 - While the big sites spend millions, a growing number of niche Websites are becoming profitable as they identify opportunities to drive revenues through trade advertising and e-com services.

One site finding success in outerspace via cyberspace is SpaceDaily.Com which has captured millions of eye ball views in the past year and growing advertising dollars.

SpaceDaily provides industry professionals and the interested public a professionally produced portal service comprising daily space news, industry information and thousands of embedded offsite links to make SpaceDaily "The Internet Portal To Space".

Niche players like SpaceDaily are finding it possible to collapse production costs and offer low cost advertising services that are finding new markets among smaller companies who are reluctant to buy print advertising due to high costs for little exposure. Via SpaceDaily industry advertisers have been able to achieve high exposure at low impression rates.

During the 12 months to June 1999, SpaceDaily sold 75 one-month advertising periods and over 15 million banner network impressions for a gross revenue of $US78,160. During this period SpaceDaily published over 1,000 news and information articles encompassing some 20 microports of focused information modules.

Competitively, SpaceDaily has created a loyal audience of space industry professionals who enjoy the site's unique blend of dry editorial that is brought to life with eye friendly colors, readable fonts and a vast collection of descriptive thumbnails.

In fiscal 2000, SpaceDaily projects revenues of $US250,000 based upon an estimated 30 million page views across its Space Media Network at an average CPM of $3.33. In-house Advertising Sales are projected at $US50,000, with additional Electronic Commerce Sales of $US100,000 in line with third party ventures now being finalized. Operating costs for fiscal 2000 are projected to be $US150,000 with final profitability determined by capital spending needs.
