Intelsat has announced that it signed a multi-year extension to its agreement with space segment, television production and transmission service provider, VISTA Satellite Communications.

Intelsat provides VISTA domestic and international satellite capacity through Intelsat's industry-leading Galaxy and IS satellite fleet, which serves broadcasters throughout the globe. VISTA distributes syndicated programming for the broadcast community in North America and offers its customers long-term flexibility for expanded occasional use services.

VISTA's customers include Fortune 500 companies, broadcasters, cable programmers, news organizations, educational institutions and government institutions.

"Our contract extension will help us provide our customers with the capacity they require to deliver high-value content and immediate coverage of events as they happen," said Roy Liemer, President and CEO of VISTA Satellite Communications.

"Intelsat's Galaxy satellites penetrate the cable and broadcasting neighborhoods demanded most by our customers."

"Intelsat continues to provide the satellite industry's leading occasional use services. Customers such as VISTA rely on Intelsat's robust satellite network and dedicated occasional use services transponder pool, featuring 24/7 single point-of-contact customer support. Cable programmers, broadcasters and media companies seeking occasional use services have convenient, cost-effective access to our network through numerous video switching facilities and teleports around the world," said Ronald Rosenthal, Intelsat's Regional Vice President, Broadcast Solutions.
