SES-4 Supports Telespazio's Growth In Brazilian Market

SES has announced that Telespazio Brasil S.A. has signed a long-term capacity agreement to boost corporate and government networks across Brazil's heartland and its oil-rich ocean waters.

Telespazio Brasil is using Ku-band capacity aboard the new SES-4 satellite to enable the delivery of high-speed broadband and high-quality voice to companies operating in remote inland communities.

The leading telecom provider is in the midst of implementing a VSAT network, driven in part by the strategic coverage provided by one of SES' most powerful spacecraft. SES-4 was launched earlier this year and brings significant additional Ku-band capacity to the Latin American markets.

"SES-4 gave to us opportunities to offer reliable and high quality services for our corporate and government customers throughout Brazil. SES knows Latin America and has built our regional needs into the coverage and capabilities of its growing fleet," said Marzio Laurenti, CEO of Telespazio Brasil.

"Our new partnership with SES shares a common vision and goal: to satisfy the region's growth and allow innovative companies and organizations to develop across the country."

"Leading communications service providers like Telespazio Brasil are transforming the market, bringing high-speed broadband and top quality voice offerings to distant locations. As a result, companies and key social agencies are branching out and driving economic prosperity in these communities," said Dolores Martos, Vice President of Latin American and Caribbean Sales for SES.

"SES is committed to a strategic capacity blueprint designed to meet the long-term demands of Latin America's growing businesses and consumers."

Telespazio Brasil has already initiated the delivery of telecom services over the SES-4 satellite to corporate and government customers in Brazil.
