Lavell Systems has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase SkyPort Global Communications located in Houston, TX. "Based on the ever-increasing demand for broadband, the growing sophistication of network applications and customer demand for a single communications provider, the integration business is now at the forefront of both growth and profitability - and so is Lavell," said Patrick Brant, President and CEO of Lavell. "SkyPort has a strong reputation of offering world-class service to the world's most discerning organizations. "This acquisition will serve as the foundation of our Enterprise business division and will allow us to deliver a greater range of services to customers, strongly positioning us for continued success." SkyPort, an industry leader in carrier-class satellite communications, whose recent successes include a contract with Cisco to provide satellite solutions to Cisco's Emergency Response Networks (ERN), has a solid reputation with the National Guard and commercial clients in the oil and gas sector. The transaction is subject to shareholder approval and targeted to close in July 2008.
