by Staff Writers
White Plains NY (SPX) May 08, 2008

The F-16 in action.

ITT's Advanced Integrated Defense Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS) continues its role as a system of choice for international F-16 fighter aircraft. ITT Electronic Systems has been awarded a Foreign Military Sales contract of the ALQ-211(V)4 AIDEWS, for Pakistan Air Force F-16s, from Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.

This represents the sixth customer to contract for AIDEWS to protect their national assets.

This specific award for the AIDEWS system will be used on F-16 aircraft being procured under separate acquisition by the F-16 program office.

Associated spares, support equipment, engineering services, flight test support and data are also being acquired under this contract.

The ALQ-211(V)4 AIDEWS is an advanced derivative of the ITT Electronic Systems' ALQ-211 Suite of Integrated RF Countermeasures (SIRFC).

SIRFC is currently in production for U.S. Special Operations aircraft CV-22, MH-47, and MH-60.
