ASC Signal Corporation has been awarded a contract by HorizonSat Teleports GmbH, a subsidiary of HorizonSat. HorizonSat is a major provider of satellite services located in the United Arab Emirates, and ASC Signal will provide them with a seven antenna, turnkey, teleport solution. The contract will include design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of large-aperture transmit/receive earth station antennas and custom feed systems. The new teleport will enable HorizonSat to access more satellites to serve their customers' broadcast, voice, data and IP-services requirements. Under the contract, valued at nearly $2 million, ASC Signal will design, manufacture and install a combination of 9.4 meter antennas, which are designed for use with Ku- and Ka-band frequencies, and 7.6 meter Ku-band antennas, all with specifically engineered feed designs to meet HorizonSat's unique technical requirements. In addition to the high-performance antennas, a major driver behind HorizonSat's purchase is the provision of ASC Signal's advanced Next Generation Controller (NGC), which will give HorizonSat one simplified, central device to control and operate its multiple antenna systems for their critical tracking requirements. The new HorizonSat teleport will be located near Munich, Germany. It will support uninterrupted satellite transmission services for large corporations, telecom operators, broadcasters and Internet Service Providers. This teleport installation continues ASC's significant increase in antenna deliveries during 2012, for Europe and throughout the world. "ASC Signal worked closely with HorizonSat to understand their requirements," said Keith Buckley, President and CEO of ASC Signal. "Our technical expertise will provide HorizonSat with the specialized antenna feeds required for their unique applications. In addition to our advanced engineering, we will deliver complete end-to-end services including our industry leading, flexible NGC to simplify operation of these antennas and enable our new customer to deliver the most efficient solutions to their users." "HorizonSat is continuing to expand rapidly in the EMEA region with the development of this new, European teleport," said Hisham Ansari, HorizonSat's Managing Director. "Using ASC's advanced antennas and the customization they will provide, we will be able to service our many existing customers and additional new customer requirements as we continue our growth in the region."
