DirecTV And Alterna'TV Announce Debut Of Ecuavisa Internacional

Continuing to expand the diversity of its Spanish-language programming lineup, DirecTV and Alterna'TV, an integral part of SATMEX, Monday announced that Ecuavisa Internacional, the number one television station in Ecuador, is now being broadcast in the United States on the DirecTV Para Todos programming platform.

Designed to meet the programming needs of Ecuadorians living in the United States, Ecuavisa will offer a variety of programming including comedies, debates, sports, news and crime series.

DirecTV will be the exclusive satellite TV provider of the new network for 3 years and it will be available to all DirecTV Para Todos customers at no additional cost.

"The carriage of Ecuavisa on the DirecTV Para Todos service underscores our intention to provide programming to the many underserved segments of the Hispanic community in the United States," said Stephanie Campbell, executive vice president, Programming, DirecTV.

"Through programming that is transmitted Directly from Ecuador, DirecTV and Ecuavisa are building an intercontinental bridge capable of connecting, in real time, every Ecuadorian in the United States to the events and cultural life of their home country."

Launched in October 1999, the DirecTV Para Todos service offers the most comprehensive Spanish and English language programming available at an affordable price.

The service provides access to more than 50 Spanish- language channels including sports, movies, music, news and educational networks and 215 English-language channels of DirecTV(R) programming, featuring the largest selection of pay per view choices and sports programming available.

Azerbaijan Joins Intersputnik

The Republic of Azerbaijan has joined the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications. In May 2004 Azerbaijan's decision to accede to this Organization was approved by the Milli Mejlis (Parliament) and in September 2004 the depositary-government represented by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs received instruments of ratification of Intersputnik's regulatory documents by the Republic of Azerbaijan.
