![]() ![]() Images to be offered include the OrbView Cities data set and additional OrbView-2 images, along with future imagery from the upcoming OrbView 3 & 4 satellites. TerraServer is the worlds leading Internet web site for consumer access to satellite imagery. TerraServer is a joint development between Aerial Images, Microsoft, Compaq and Kodak, which provides hard copy purchased via TerraServer.com. In addition to the TerraServer agreement, ORBIMAGE has obtained the right to re-distribute Aerial Images SPIN-2 basic and value-added imagery products generated from Russian two-meter resolution satellites through its reseller network and online. This agreement establishes ORBIMAGE data, along with SPIN-2 images, as the only high-resolution satellite imagery to be offered on TerraServer. Visitors to TerraServer.com will be able to browse a large number of ORBIMAGEs one-meter resolution images of U.S. and foreign cities at no cost, and purchase small image areas in digital or print form at consumer-level prices. "We are very excited to offer ORBIMAGEs one-meter imagery on TerraServer," said Aerial Images President John Hoffman. "This agreement will bring a steady stream of new high-resolution imagery to the TerraServer customer base." Gilbert D. Rye, ORBIMAGE President, said, "Our TerraServer relationship helps change the 30-year paradigm that has limited satellite imagery to just scientists and government users by now making imagery available for everyday, consumer use."
