Northrop Grumman Corporation's Information Technology (IT) sector has been awarded a contract by InDyne, Inc. to support the Air Force Space Command's Western Range Operations, Communications and Information (WROCI) at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), Calif.

Northrop Grumman IT will provide performance assurance and engineering services to prime contractor InDyne in support of range operations and maintenance, with an initial award value of $85 million over an eight-year term. The company estimates it will hire an additional 200 employees in support of this contract at sites in both California and Hawaii.

"Our extensive range operations and maintenance expertise, coupled with InDyne's enterprise management solutions and space credentials, represent the best solution and value for the WROCI contract," said Gregg Donley, president, Technical Services, Northrop Grumman IT.

"We are delighted to be a member of this team and are confident we will provide exceptional service to InDyne and VAFB across all areas of our expertise in achieving mission critical success."

The WROCI contract will consolidate several existing contracts, providing improved service and cost efficiencies.

Northrop Grumman IT will provide performance assurance in the areas of quality, safety, environmental and security; engineering support in design, development, integration and configuration management; and engineering support of operations and maintenance.

The company will also respond to engineering task orders issued by the 30th Contracting Squadron, the contracting organization of the Air Force Space Command. The 30th Space Wing at VAFB is the Air Force Space Command organization responsible for all Department of Defense space and missile launch activities on the West Coast.

Northrop Grumman IT brings more than 40 years experience providing base and range operations, maintenance and engineering support to diverse defense and civilian agencies.

ViaSat to Supply Mobile VSAT Systems for Joint Combat Camera

ViaSat Inc. has received a subcontract for approximately $1.5 million from VSE Corporation for mobile, rapid-deploy LINKWAY satellite terminals. Using the terminals, military camera crews will be able to quickly and securely transmit video and still imagery from forward military areas to headquarters and command locations in the field, as well as back to the U.S. ViaSat will also provide system engineering, integration, installation services, and training in the U.S. and abroad.
