L-3 To Provide TT&C Hardware For Space Test Program

C/NOFS is the ionospheric scintillation forecast tool of the future. It is intended to alert U.S. warfighters of impending UHF and L-band satellite communication outages, GPS navigation degradations and space-based radar tracking errors caused by radio signal fluctuations.

The Conic enterprise of L-3 Communications' newly formed Telemetry-West division announced today that it has been awarded a contract from Spectrum Astro, Inc. (SAI) to provide Telemetry, Tracking and Control (TT&C) hardware for the Space Test Program's (STP) Communication/Navigation Outage Forecasting System (C/NOFS) program.

The hardware, which includes a Space-Ground Link System (SGLS) transponder with embedded encryption/decryption as well as a receiver/decryptor, complements current Air Force programs and builds on existing synergies between L-3 and Spectrum Astro.

L-3 Storm To Control New Fleet Of Inmarsat Birds

L-3 Communications announced today that its Storm Control Systems (L-3 Storm) division was selected by Inmarsat to provide command and control software for the company�s fleet of next-generation spacecraft, Inmarsat-4 (I4).
