Hughes Network Systems, a provider of broadband satellite solutions and services, which it markets under the Direcway brand, announced that it is supplying JSC SatLine, a new Ukrainian satellite services company, with a comprehensive Direcway system, including Network Operations Center (NOC) and remote terminals.

JSC SatLine will provide broadband satellite services to customers throughout Ukraine including banks, government agencies, local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and commercial enterprises.

Under the terms of the contract, HNS is supplying DW6000 broadband satellite terminals, enabled with the DW6040 voice appliance for low-cost VoIP service, and the DW6030 serial appliance, providing customers with high speed, 2-way data transmission services and Internet/intranet access.

JSC SatLine's first customer is Nadra Bank, which is implementing a high-quality enterprise communication system to connect all of its offices and branches throughout Ukraine.

"Implementation of a broadband satellite services network is part of Nadra Bank's strategy, which we approved in 2003. Using the Direcway solution, provided to us by JSC SatLine and HNS, Nadra can achieve a competitive advantage," said Igor Gilenko, president of Nadra Bank.

"We are able to connect any of the Bank's outlets and terminals to our corporate network within a very short period of time, thus ensuring multi- service, high-speed and reliable data transfer across our operations."

"Our customers banking in any outlet of Nadra Bank, as well as in any place in Ukraine, will be able to get our whole portfolio of banking services on-line. Moreover, the Direcway solution will significantly reduce our data communications costs."

"Direcway brings the quality of the banking services we offer up to the level of those offered by the world's leading banks and other large corporations," Gilenko added.

"HNS is proud to have been selected by JSC SatLine and extend our congratulations at the launch of its satellite service business in Ukraine," said Arunas Slekys, vice president of corporate marketing and general manager of Russia/NIS/Baltic region for Hughes Network Systems.

"Direcway is the world's leading satellite broadband technology and it's no coincidence that Nadra Bank, Satline's first customer, is known as an innovative and successful high technology organization."

"The performance and scalability of Direcway allows us to offer a secure, reliable, and cost-effective solution to our customers in Ukraine," said Alexander Zhivkov, director, JSC SatLine.

"Direcway is the most advanced satellite communications solution available and the combination of price and quality gives our customers the best solution."
