L-3 Appoints Kevin Mallon As President Of Electron Technologies

L-3 Communications has announced that Kevin Mallon has been named president of its Electron Technologies subsidiary located in Torrance, CA.

In his new position, Mr. Mallon will report to James Benham, who oversees the Electron, Microwave, and Power Device Products area within the L-3 Products Group. The L-3 Products Group operates under the leadership of president and chief operating officer Charles J. Schafer.

With over 23 years of engineering leadership and technical experience, Mr. Mallon began his career with ETI in 1982, holding various positions of increasing responsibility before joining Space Systems/Loral in 1996.

In 2001, he rejoined ETI as director of strategic development and chief scientist and was subsequently promoted to deputy general manager in 2002.

Mr. Mallon received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University.

Horowitz Leads NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate

NASA Administrator Michael Griffin Wednesday named veteran space shuttle commander Scott J. Horowitz as associate administrator for the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate.
