In his new role at Segovia, Tom Catudal will ensure the continued performance and efficiency of the company's global IP satellite network, which supports several mission-critical programs for military and government customers. This includes Segovia's high-profile IP broadband network deployments for the U.S. Army's "Connect the Logistician" and MWR IP Calling Services programs among others.

Tom Catudal joins Segovia after a 26 year career with the U.S. Army. He recently received accolades from government and industry for his service as the as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of ICT for the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) in Iraq, where he directed ICT systems and support for U.S. and Coalition personnel.

Prior to his deployment to Baghdad, Col. (Ret.) Catudal's assignments included serving as the Office of the Army Chief Information Officer/G6 (CIO/G6), Deputy Director for Information Operations, Networks, and Space (IONS).

Following the September 11, 2001 attacks, he played a vital role in coordinating military and industry IT support to rebuild the Pentagon ICT infrastructure within 72 hours. Col. (Ret.) Tom Catudal was also Director of Operations, Army CIO/G6, Secretary of the Army, for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Among Col. (Ret.) Tom Catudal's long list of career accomplishments are numerous decorations including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster. He is a recipient of the George T. Malanos award for academic excellence from Georgia State University.

Col. (Ret.) Tom Catudal is recognized as one of the 2005 Federal -- the top executives from government, industry and academia who had the greatest impact on the government information systems community because of his impact on the way agencies and companies develop, acquire, manage and use communications information technology.

He was also the recipient of the Meritorious Award for Engineering, AFCEA International 2005, recognizing him for his tremendous efforts within the government and industry ICT community.

Tom Catudal has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Georgia, a Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, and is a graduate of the Army War College and General Staff College.
