XCOR Aerospace reports that Bryan Campen has joined the company as its Director of Media and Public Relations. Members of the press and media are invited to update their records. Campen will be responsible for implementing XCOR's media and public relations strategy. "The aggressive revenue ramp we saw last year is continuing into 2012 and 2013 which is supporting XCOR's transformation from a small R and D company to the world's most active operator and manufacturer of manned commercial space vehicles," said Andrew Nelson, XCOR Chief Operating Officer. "We owe it to clients, shareholders and our thousands of fans and followers to match our world class technical excellence with similarly capable skills in communications." Campen comes to XCOR with a decade of experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, he served as Director of New Media Strategy at Manifest Digital, a user experience design firm based in Chicago. At Manifest, Campen's responsibilities included strategic development of new media projects with Fortune 100 clients across a range of verticals, including retail health and finance, and direct collaboration with Manifest founders on the internal rebrand in 2011. Prior to that he worked as Managing Director of Blueye Creative, a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer in Chicago. Since 2007 he has served as an advisor to The Long Now Foundation in San Francisco, collaborating on their digital presence and online seminar series with staff and executive leadership. He has also served as Online Communication Coordinator for Eboo Patel, the Executive Director of Interfaith Youth Core. Campen graduated with a degree in Communication from Wheaton College, where he has also been a guest lecturer on new media between 2006-2010. Campen said "I'm excited to be in a new industry with a company as exceptional as XCOR. Our people and product design have the very real promise of changing the world, and I have a front row seat."
