The deal was signed by Alcatel Space president, Pascale Sourisse, and the chief executive of China Sat in the presence of Jean-Pierre Raffarin and Chinese Vice Prime Minister Zeng Peiyan, who is visiting here.

The amount of the contract was not given, but industry sources said it was worth about 100 million euros (120 million dollars).
