"We do not have a specific estimate (for participation via the Internet) but hope this will help more shareholders exercise their voting rights" at an annual general shareholders' meeting in June, said DoCoMo spokesman Yoshiki Kono.
The company allowed shareholders to vote using their personal computers in 2002 and 2003 after changes to the law cleared the way for e-voting.
However, last year only 0.2 percent of eligible votes were cast via the Internet on the day of the annual general meeting, with 64 percent voting at the AGM venue and 21 percent via written ballots.
