On a two-day visit to India's technology hub of Bangalore, Medgyessy, who had visited the city 15 years ago when he was the deputy prime minister, said he saw the economic impact of the hi-tech boom.
"I think the city has really changed. Now I see development and new constructions happening," Medgyessy told reporters. "I think IT is a typical industry which can create jobs and development."
He visited India's premier technology showcase event the BangaloreIT.com where he saw a 20-minute video presentation on the facilities the "Silicon Valley of India" offered to foreign companies.
"Bangalore being a major centre for IT, I think there is a lot of scope for cooperation between my country and Karnataka," the state of which Bangalore is the capital, he said.
The Hungarian premier, accompanied by a high-level delegation, was slated to visit India's second largest software exporter Infosys and address a business conference before returning home Thursday.
