Alcatel Space wins satellite contract from Brazil's Star One

 French group Alcatel Space said Tuesday that it had signed a satellite contract worth 190 million dollarsmillion euros) with Brazilian operator Star One.

The contract, announced at the Paris Air Show here, provides for Alcatel Space to build and put into orbit a Star One C1 telecommunications satellite to serve Latin America.

Star One, a leading operator of satellite capacity, is a subsidiary of Embratel.
