Alcatel Space wins satellite contract from Brazil's Star One

 French group Alcatel Space said Tuesday it had signed a new satellite contract worth 190 million dollarsmillion euros) with Brazilian operator Star One.

The contract, announced in a statement at the Paris Air Show here, provides for Alcatel Space to build and put into orbit a Star One C1 telecommunications satellite to serve Latin America.

Star One, a leading operator of satellite capacity, is a subsidiary of Embratel.
