Europe on Monday launched its first-ever journey to Mars when the orbiter Mars Express separated from a Russianrocket which earlier blasted it into space, officials said.The separation occurred at 01:15 am Tuesday (1915 GMT), exactly 90 minutes after the launch of the Soyuz, as had been expected, they said.
