The San Diego-based Sea Launch, jointly owned by Boeing and a consortium of Norwegian, Russian and Ukrainian companies, have become a launch leader using the Odyssey launch platform on the equator, near Kiribati's Kiritimati Atoll.
In a statement Sea Launch said Thuraya 2 will be launched on June 10.
The satellite, controlled from Abu Dhabi, will allow communications links across 100 nations in the Middle East, Europe, North and Central Africa and South and Central Asia.
