The firm said the Bangalore center would employ 60 software professionals in the first year of operations.
"The Indian lab will focus on research and development across Informaticas entire family of software products for data integration and data warehousing," said Informatica president Gaurav Dhillon.
The firm is already working with Indias leading software firms and systems integrators such as Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys Technologies and Wipro Ltd.
"Informaticas Indian lab will have a team of engineers supporting the efforts of these systems integrators," Dhillon said.
More than 1,750 global companies have deployed Informatica's software for data warehousing and integration.
