ANKARA (AFP) May 01, 2003 At least 46 people are confirmed dead following a powerful earthquake which shook Turkey's eastern province of Bingol early Thursday, Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun said on television.
Coskun was speaking in Bingol where more than 100 children were trapped under the rubble of a boarding school which collapsed in the tremor which measured 6.4 on the Richter scale.
