The helicopter -- a Cougar -- crashed near Egirdir town in Isparta province while on a training flight, according to the statement carried by Anatolia news agency.

The army said the cause of the accident was not immediately known, but Anatolia reported that the helicopter flew into a high-tension power line.

Egirdir governor Celil Atesoglu said the aircraft was still burning when a search and rescue team arrived at the scene.

A fifth soldier was hospitalized with injuries, he said.
