Four killed, four injured in Bangladesh storm

Four members of the same family were killed and four others were injured Tuesday in lightning strikes during a tropical storm that swept Bangladesh, police said.

The four, including a two-year-old boy, were killed in Bakerganj village of southern Barisal district, 112 kilometers (70 miles) from the capital Dhaka, the official BSS news agency quoted police as saying.

Police said four others were injured in nearby Chadramohan village and were treated in local hospitals.

Tropical storms are common around this time of the year in Bangladesh.
