US forces confirm they are holding Saddam's son-in-law

Coalition forces in Iraq are holding Jamal Mustafa Abdullah Sultan, one of Saddam Hussein's sons-in-law, Brigadier-General Vincent Brooks confirmed Tuesday at the war command headquarters in Qatar.

Sultan figures in 40th position in a US list of their 55 most-wanted officials of the ousted regime.

The Iraqi National Congress, which has long opposed Saddam, said earlier Sultan had been persuaded to surrender to the group, which then handed him over to the Americans.
